Straight Tuck End Boxes Both the top and bottom flaps tuck in from the same direction — the front of the box. Used heavily for cosmetic boxes, skincare, supplements, and electronics accessories. The most common tuck format for premium retail packaging.
Reverse Tuck End Boxes The top flap tucks in from the front and the bottom flap tucks in from the back. This alternate-direction closure makes the box more economical to cut from a sheet of board — less waste, lower cost per unit. The most cost-effective tuck format.
Tuck Top Boxes A box with a tuck-in top closure and a fixed, sealed base — no bottom flap to tuck. The sealed base is stronger than a tuck closure, making tuck top boxes the right choice for heavier or denser products. Available with auto-lock, snap-lock, or glued base options. Generally used in Custom Candle boxes.
Roll-End Tuck Top Boxes (RETT) Also called roll-end tuck top — a style with a wide base panel that rolls under the box and a tuck-in top. Extremely strong base structure, widely used for premium retail, mailer boxes, and subscription packaging. The RETT format holds its shape better than standard tuck boxes when stacked or shipped.
Tuck Top Auto Bottom Boxes: Tuck top lid with an automatic fold-out base — no assembly required at the base. The auto-bottom pops open when the box is lifted. Ideal for high-volume retail packing where assembly speed matters.
Tuck Flap Boxes: A variation where the tuck flap forms the primary closure mechanism, often with a dust flap alongside. Used for specific product types — electronics accessories, golf ball sleeves, and single product retail boxes.
Coated Paperboard (SBS / C1S / C2S) The standard material for custom tuck boxes. White-coated surface takes printing exceptionally well — vivid colours, fine detail, sharp edges. Available in weights from 220 GSM to 750 GSM, depending on the product load and structural requirement. This is food-grade material. So it is safe for food items, medicines, supplements, etc.
Kraft Cardboard Natural brown or white kraft for brands with an eco or artisan positioning. Recyclable and biodegradable Custom Tuck Boxes. Printable in full colour or left natural with minimal branding. Used by eco-friendly brands.

What is the difference between a straight tuck and a reverse tuck box?
On a straight tuck box, both the top and bottom flaps tuck in from the front. On a reverse tuck, the top tucks from the front and the bottom tucks from the back. The reverse tuck is more material-efficient and cheaper per unit. Straight tuck gives a cleaner front presentation, hiding both closures from the display face.
What is a tuck top box, and how is it different from a tuck end box?
A tuck end box has tuck-in flaps at both the top and bottom. A tuck top box has a tuck-in top lid but a sealed, stronger base — either auto-lock, snap-lock, or glued. Tuck top boxes are better for heavier products because the base won’t buckle under weight, the way a tuck-in base can.
What is a roll-end tuck top (RETT) box?
RETT is a tuck box style where the base is formed by a wide panel that rolls under the box for extra structural strength. The top closes with a standard tuck flap. The RETT base is significantly more rigid than a standard tuck bottom, making it the preferred format for premium retail, subscription boxes, and mailers.
Can tuck boxes have a window die-cut?
Yes. A clear PET film window panel can be incorporated into any face of the tuck box. Popular for food products, candles, and soap packaging, where the product is visible through the box before purchase.
What weight cardboard should I use for my custom tuck boxes?
For lightweight products (cosmetics, supplements, small accessories), 220–350 GSM cardboard is used. For heavier products or products that need to stack on the shelf without deforming, 350–400 GSM is recommended. Heavier cardboard stock can also be used for premium products on demand.
Do Custom tuck boxes come pre-assembled or flat-packed?
Flat-packed as standard. All tuck box styles ship flat-packed, which significantly reduces storage volume and shipping cost. Assembly is simple — the boxes are creased and ready to fold.
